Have you ever think on how you can change the number of document recently shown on your recent Items menu?. By default only 10 items is can only be shown on your Recent Items but you can increase that with this easy registry tweak. As always please backup your registry first before you performing this tweak.

Open up regedit.exe

Navigate down and look for the following key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Add a new DWORD 32-bit value and named it MaxRecentDocs into the right-hand pane, and then double-click to open it up.

Change Base to Decimal  then  enter any value you want. For instance, if you want to set it to 30, enter that into the Value data field.

The problem I see with VISTA is it eats up a lot of memory. Perhaps Windows 7 will solve this problem.

I don’t think it will be resolved on Windows 7. The only thing I see they change in Win7 from Vista are some GUI improvements, A little bit more security and less annoying but overall it’s pretty much the same in Vista.
