How to Fix Error 27 on Canon Pixma MP145

canon-pixma-mp145Just this morning while I was about to print some documents, I encounter a E27 error on my Canon Pixma MP145 all-in-one printer. This type of error occurs when your waste ink absorber is full. The first thing I did was I clean the holder and the cartridge itself, remove excess inks, spills and some dirts but still no luck. The last solution that I did was I reset the waste ink counter which is not easy and requires lots of trials and tons of patience because it took me I think 10 times before my printer finally resets.

1. Turn off your printer then press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.

2. When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button twice while pressing and holding the Power button.

3. When you release the Power button and the Stop/ Reset button, your printer will move into a service mode.

4. When the on/off lights is in green, press the Stop/Reset button 4 times. You will then notice thatĀ  each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green.

5. Turn off your printer.

6. Turn on your printer.

7. If unsuccessful go back to first step and try again :D .

8. If still unsuccessful don’t cry yet just repeat the above procedures until you get your desired result.

thanks very much for the reply sir. i finally have it working. i checked the inside and i found a small piece of paper stocked in the roller. the plastic strip is ok but the slider is already thick with black ink so i just cleaned it with cotton buds and a little alcohol. it now prints fast on the first page but takes a long time to print the proceeding page with windows saying “waiting for the ink to dry”. is there a way to fix this?

    i got a problem with my mp145 printer.it show’s error E4.plz help me

    • slavezero says:

A E4 error usually means that your printer didn’t detect your cartridge. To fix the error, try to press and hold the Black & Color Button for about 5 to 10 seconds.

Does anyone know how to fix the catridge carrier that not moving? I realize that my printer are unable to print and shows the Service Error 5100. So i open up my printer and realize that the catridge is not moving to the left.Usually when we open it, it will auto move to left. I tried to use some force to move it manually but it’s not moving at all. Seems like it’s stuck there and i am unable to do print or scan as the light will keep blinking.my printer is MP145

  30. ieyah says:

im using canon pixma MP145..the prolem is my printer always show E4and i can’t print..

  31. slavezero says:

    Your welcome :)

I love sharing my tech experiences, for me experience is the best teacher.

This procedure also works on MP150 and MP160 Canon model printers.

  32. slavezero says:

No they are different. resetting will not solved this type of error. this 5100 is a carriage error. Try checking the timing strip of your printer, look for any contamination (it is a plastic strip about 1/4″ wide), if the unit is not homing check for any obstruction. Try also to lubricate the sliders with some white grease so the mechanism can slide more freely,

  33. slavezero says:

are you using a compatible ink on your printer? did you buy your ink on CDR king? cdrking inks usually gives problems on your printer. I don’t recommended purchasing inks from them. their inks are thin.

try also to do a maintenance job on your printer and check if it solve the issue.

Just update me on this topic if it doesn’t solve anything :)

  34. slavezero says:

    Your welcome :)

You may also want to change your cartridge. cartridges do not usually last long, especially the tri-color ones. they normally last only up to 4 to 6 months before they start giving you problems such as low quality prints, broken lines, ink spills etc.

  35. slavezero says:

Repeatedly follow my instructions again until it finally resets. in my case I think I tried it 10 times before it finally resets… you might want to do it more than that :D

update me if nothings happen. I’ll see what I can do.
